Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190)
The Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190) is a permanent residency visa for skilled workers who are nominated by an Australian state or territory. This visa is designed for individuals with occupations listed on the State/Territory Skilled Occupation List and who meet the eligibility criteria set by the nominating region.
To apply, candidates must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through SkillSelect and receive an invitation from the Australian government. Applicants must be nominated by a state or territory government, score at least 65 points on the points test, and meet other eligibility requirements such as age, English proficiency, and work experience.
Once granted, the Subclass 190 visa allows individuals to live, work, and study anywhere in Australia permanently. However, visa holders are generally required to live in the nominating state for a specified period. The visa also provides access to Medicare, social benefits, and a pathway to Australian citizenship.
